ABOUT US
Carrier Bag Collective acknowledges that the land on which we work, in so-called Toronto, is on the territory of the Anishinabeg, the Haudenosaunee, and the Wendat peoples and is covered by Treaty 13 with the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. We believe in #LandBack, which is the reinstating of Indigenous jurisdiction over their traditional land. To learn more about the Land Back movement click here.
Carrier Bag Collective is a Toronto-based artist and curatorial collective. Named after Ursula K. Le Guin’s Carrier Bag Theory of Fiction, we explore collection methodologies as curatorial interest and artmaking practice. Emphasizing community engaged creation and accessibility in arts knowledge, Carrier Bag Collective programs free public workshops, exhibitions, and other initiatives to provide opportunities to early-career artists.
Carrier Bag Collective is currently comprised of 4 members, Levi DeCoste, Abby Kettner, Jay Clarke, and Hailey Ferguson.
